The Julan calendar consists of twelve months, each 4 weeks of 7 days. The smaller moon, Luana, completes its cycle 28 days, so each season, the moon’s cycle is offset by 1/4 of its cycle. The larger moon, Numara, makes its complete cycle only once a year, and the Full Moon occurs during the middle of the Midsummer Festival.

Scholars and priests disagree on whether the Cosmos was created by the Lord and Lady, or the Lord and Lady came from the Cosmos itself. Most of the rest, however, they do agree with.
The Lord and Lady, two sides of the same divine force that permeates all, had many children. These children became the greater gods, and progenitors of all the races. Each was ‘born’ in their own part of the cosmos and given reign.
The siblings didn’t stay in their own areas, with their powers, they created more of their kind; mates, friends, competitors, and slaves.
Eventually, a great war broke out that threatened the very fabric of the Cosmos. As with the mortal races, the children of the gods argued about borders. Borders so vast that light itself would take thousands of years to cross, but still they fought. The now numerous children and their creations fought with powers that shook the galaxies, and tore space itself asunder. The Lord and Lady had remained aloof, thinking they would eventually come to terms and work things out, but it seemed that the turmoil would not end before it tore the Cosmos apart.
The Lord and Lady could not allow the Cosmos to be destroyed. They tried to mediate, but their children were too stubborn to listen or compromise. When left with no other choice, the Divine Couple acted: they took most of the powers away from their children, and their children’s creations, all of them were given physical form, so that they could now feel the pain of the Cosmos, and be vulnerable.
The one last thing the Lord and Lady did was create the One Divine Rule: None of their children could directly harm each other. They picked one world, and told their children that they would be limited to that one world. There, they were only allowed to interfere by granting limited powers and gaining followers. Each had their chosen creation, although some took more care in creating them than others.
Their followers only, were allowed to act on behalf of their gods. Now, many have formed alliances, some uneasy and tentative, and others that are strong and lasting. These are reflected in the races that inhabit Julan.
God of weather (air, storms and war). It is said Kiaktat was one of the original children of the Lord and Lady. He is considered the ruler, and highest being, of the human pantheon, although it may be argued that Ninlin actually may have more followers. Fair and just, but with a quick temper and unyielding temperament, Kiaktat rules the domain of human deities.
Goddess of Nature. (Animals and plants, with some weather.) Wife of Kiaktat, Kiana oversees the lands on which all humans dwell. She is credited with passing the knowledge of agriculture to humans. She also is quick to anger when humans take advantage of this knowledge and try to conquer nature.
God of Rivers and Oceans. (Water) Manandi holds sway over all bodies of water. It is said that through even the smallest of puddles, his presence may be felt. Aloof, with few devout followers, many peoples still at least hold a token obeisance to Manandi, especially those who make their living, or travel upon, the waters of Julan.
God of Sun and Fire, War and Death. Loud, brash, and generally good natured, in a rather violent sort of way, Utsendar has many followers among the militaristic minded. However, many cultures downplay that aspect of his nature and emphasize the sun and its life giving warmth. He oversees the afterlife, which varies from culture to culture. In some, it is a peaceful place where all may dwell until the end of the Cosmos. In others, it is a constant battle where the victors will sit down and drink with the vanquished at the end and do it all again every day. It is said that Utsendar can recover from the gravest of wounds, so long as even a small part of him lives.
Goddess of love, fertility and healing. Ninlin is a popular goddess among all humans. While she may not have many devout followers, all, at one time or another, pray to her and offer gifts for her blessings. It is said that she occasionally walks amongst mortals, appearing alternately as a young, beautiful human (of either gender), or an elderly wise woman dispensing wisdom and healing the sick.
Elven Powers (Tel’Seldarine)
The Elven pantheon is primarily located in an area known as Arvandor, “The High Forest”. This group of divine beings possess a wide variety of capabilities and areas of interest, and are linked together by a desire for cooperation. Though many of their spheres of influence overlap, there is no conflict between them. The Seldarine are all, almost without exception, chaotic, neutral, and/or good in temperament. None are evil. They act for the most part independently of one another, but are drawn together by love, curiosity, friendship, to combine their strengths to accomplish a task, or by outside threats. What follows is a listing of these beings, and while their descriptions are far from complete, it should provide you with a greater understanding of their nature. Corellon is the embodiment of the highest ideals of elvenkind. “He” is the creator of the elven race, and as with all the elven gods, he can assume the form of either sex, but usually appears as a male, and is usually revered in this form.
Corellon is often referred to as “the protector and preserver of my life” by an elf in peril, reflecting his role as overseer and guardian of the elven people. While other deities may reflect the joy, delights and accomplishments of the elves, Corellon stands as an ever-vigilant watcher over them. Only when it is time for them to pass from the worlds he helped create does he renounce his watchfulness to Sehanine. Corellon is held never to sleep or rest. His life spirit flows from and into the elves and their lands, and while mortal elves daydream and reverie, Corellon never abandons his watchfulness. Here he stands in marked contrast to Sehanine, an antithesis which is emphasized by the myths which place her as his consort.
Priests of Corellon are expected to be leaders of Elven communities in many ways. They take a leading role in developing their own, and training others in, combat skills, magic, and arts and crafts. They are expected to mediate any disputes, and to maintain good relations with priests of other elven religions and sylvan deities.
She most closely identified with the full moon. As moon goddess, Sehanine is one who governs divinations, omens, and what is often termed “subtle magic”—illusion, elemental (air) magic, alteration, and the like. She is also a protector against madness.
Sehanine’s second role is shared with Labelas Enoreth, god of time. Labelas granted the elves longevity, and he watches over the unfolding of their lifespans; but Sehanine watches over the passage of the elven spirits from the world, and is thus a protectress of the dead. She is also a guardian and guide to those elves who seek to travel to distant refuges, such as Evermeet. These lands are jealously hidden from outsiders by sehanine’s exceptional powers of illusion. Sehanine governs long journeys, be it physical or spiritual. In those Elven cultures which proclaim the reality of reincarnation, she and Corellon work together to guide the spirit to it’s best subsequent incarnation as it works its way to perfection.
Sehanine rarely concerns herself directly with events in the Prime Material, other than her weaving of illusions around the secret Elven retreats and guiding those Elves coming to those lands. Her omens are usually given in dreams and waking visions.
Sehanine’s priests are protectors of the dead, enjoined to combat undead creatures, organizers of funeral rites, and also seers and mystics. They also help with the pratical preparations for journeys to the hidden lands, but provide no guidance themselves. Retrieval of lost arcane lore and magical knowledge, especially pertaining to illusions and divinations, is a prime task of her adventuring priests.
Her symbol is a full moon with a moonbow.
Goddess of Romance, Love, and Beauty. Those wishing for luck in love, or to enhance their own beauty, often look to Hanali for help. She has a crystal fountain of immense size which she shares only with the goddess Aphrodite, and draughts from it are given to her senior priests as philtres of love. Hanali is a being of timeless beauty and benign nature, and forgiving of minor transgressions. She delights in rewarding her followers with the bliss of unexpected love and affection.
Hanali’s priests preside over marriages and rites of passage ceremonies for young Elves. They must cultivate fine gardens, amass personal (or temple-based) collections of gems, crystal sculptures and the like. They must always be finely dressed and must always give shelter and succor to young lovers.
Her symbol is a heart of gold.
God of Longevity. The acknowledged master of time and aging, he is responsible for the extended lifespan Elves enjoy, and knows the pasts and futures of every Elf and all Elven-related creatures. Labelas is also a philosopher, a patient teacher and instructor.
Labelas’ priests are responsible for educating the young and promoting and acquiring knowledge. They are also record keepers and historians.
His symbol is a setting sun.
God of Archery and Hunting. His magical bow has a range that reaches as far as the horizon. If he anticipates a battle with a particularly dangerous opponent, he will try to physically touch that being, then retreat. Once by himself, he will manufacture an arrow of slaying designed to kill that one foe, should it strike home.
His symbol is a silver arrow with green fletching.
God of all dwarves, as well as creation, smithing, protection, metalcraft and stonework. Moradin is the head of the dwarven pantheon. He is married to Berronar Truesilver.
Moradin charges his followers with the task of removing the kingdoms of orcs and goblins. He is upset if they flee from their foes or kill their fellow dwarves.
God of greed and mining. Abbathor manifests as a very large dwarf, fat and piggy-eyed. He wears leather and furs made from those non-dwarves who have opposed him in the past.
Goddess of safety, truth, home and healing. Berronar appears as a powerful female dwarf with a beard braided into four rows, wearing chain mail and a silver helm.
God of battle and war. Clangeddin appears as a craggy, middle-aged, bald, silver-bearded dwarf in chain mail. He is usually armed with paired battle axes, and appears powerful and always smiling.
Arvoreen The Defender, the Vigilant Guardian, the Wary Sword
Cyrrollalee The Hand of Fellowship, the Faithful, the Hearthkeeper
Tymora Lady Luck, the Lady Who Smiles, Our Smiling Lady, Tyche’s Fair-Haired Daughter

Urogalan He Who Must Be, the Black Hound, Lord in the Earth,the Protector, the Shaper
God of all goblins, hobgoblins and kobolds. He is the god of stealth, cunning in battle, and treachery. Maglubiyet is described as a giant (11 feet tall), black-skinned goblin with flaming eyes, powerfully-muscled arms and sharp talons. He is said to wield a mighty coal-black battleaxe that constantly drips blood.Maglubiyet. His domains are Destruction, Evil, and Trickery. His favoured weapon is the battleaxe. His symbol is a bloody axe.
Khurgorbaeyag is neutral evil. The specific patron of goblins, he is the master of slavery and oppression, depicted as a red-skinned goblin speckled with yellow and orange scales, carrying a whip and wearing scale mail. His domains are Evil, Suffering, and Trickery. His favoured weapon is the mace; the whip is used as a symbol only. He is the most trusted of Maglubiyet’s most trusted follower, which is not really saying very much. His symbol is a red and yellow striped whip.
Nomog-Geaya is lawful evil, and is the specific patron of hobgoblins. He espouses stoicism, courage, ruthlessness, conflict, and authority, and is a powerful hobgoblin with ashen skin, chilling orange eyes, and shark-like teeth, bearing a longsword in one hand and a hand axe in the other. His domains are Evil, Law, and War. His favoured weapon is the longsword or hand axe. He disdains Bargrivyek as a coward. His symbol is a crossed sword and axe.
Bargrivyek is lawful evil. He promotes cooperation between goblin/hobgoblin tribes in order to concentrate on further expanding territory. He is depicted as a large goblin with a domed forehead, calm mien, and white-tipped flail. His domains are Evil, and Law. His favoured weapon is the flail. He fears Maglubiyet and Nomog-Geaya. His symbol is a white-tipped flail
God of all orcs, as well as conquest, strength, survival and territory. Gruumsh appears as a powerful orc with one eye. A figure of fury and driven cruelty, Gruumsh rules his pantheon with brute power. His favored weapon is the spear.
Consort to Gruumsh, and mother of Bahgtru, Luthic is chaotic evil. A female orc with black claws, hair and eyes, she is representative of the subservience of female orcs, and is associated with female fertility, healing, and caverns and caves. Her domains are Cavern, Chaos, Evil, and Healing. She has no favoured weapon. She is loyal to Gruumsh, but is extremely close to her son, Bahgtru. Her symbol is a cave entrance.
Bahgtru, son of Gruumsh and Luthic, is chaotic evil. He is a brutally strong deity, and brutally stupid deity, depicted as a vastly muscular orc with filthy skin, dull eyes, over-sized tusks, studded leather armour, and heavy gauntlets. His domains are Chaos, Evil, and Strength, and the only weapons he favours are gauntlets. He scorns heavy armour Although loyal to Gruumsh, his first loyalty is to Luthic. His symbol is a broken thigh bone.
Semuanya (often written as Semu-anya) is represented as either an aquatic lizard, green and gray, that represents stealth and attack from ambush, or as a brown mottled desert lizard that represents survival, adapting and overcoming adversity.
Molech is the primary minotaur god and has the domains of trade and commerce, as well as the seas and sailing. In Julan, many minotaurs acknowledge Enki as an avatar of Molech. Minotaurs have little in the way of formalized services, and usually the temples on Mithlan are little more than roadside shrines with offerings or places to pray/meditate. The few organized temples often serve multiple gods and are more attended by non-minotaurs living in the area.
